The closing date for comments on the very important planning application no. 77576, currently with North Devon Council, is 14th February. This application concerns bringing the power cables from the proposed White Cross Offshore Windfarm ashore at Saunton and routing them southwards and across the Taw to Yelland. Full details including a link to submit comments can be found here.
Please make your views known to the Council before the closing date.

The North Devon Biosphere is running a survey to capture your thoughts on the challenges and opportunities for climate action and biodiversity. The survey results will help shape community response to climate change and other environmental pressures in the ND Biosphere for the years to come. The survey is live between 20th January and 28th February and accessible here, but keep watch of the ND Biosphere’s facebook page for in-person ‘drop in’ survey sessions across Northern Devon.
The Rangers at Northam Burrows are advising visitors and residents to be extra vigilant at this time of year, as the area welcomes an influx of winter birds. As some UK birds such as Swallows and House Martins head off to warmer climates, Northam Burrows welcomes a large influx of Scandinavian and Northern European species escaping the harsher winters found elsewhere.
