A permit to launch craft onto the Taw-Torridge Estuary is no longer required. However, the Forum expects that in your interests and those of other users of the waters that you are fully insured against third party risks.
We would also like to remind skippers that these can be dangerous waters and should only be navigated with care. Please ensure that you are competent to do so and that your craft is suitable and suitably equipped.
Please be familiar with the fact that there is a voluntary speed limit of 6 knots on the estuary and that your wash can be dangerous to others afloat.
